Like a father with growing children
On a summer-Sunday afternoon
Camera catching their laughter and cries
It's a flashing camera-filled sky
Snapping tall grasses
And stickly bushes
Camera catching a leaf in the fall
It's a camera sky
That clicks its shutter
And rolls the film
Over winding Polaroid® valleys
Waiting—developing
It's a flashing camera-filled sky
That catches ants
Unaware of a close-up
Scurrying between sky and hole
Exposed
And furry hares leap through flashing fields
Their hollow thumps subdued by sky shutters
Clicking long and loud
It's a flashing camera-filled sky
As we stroll through the fields of sprouting greens
Letting the flash catch our eyes
And the quickening of our breath
And in the largest dark room known
The Developer quietly descends
A mist materializing all about us
Like a father with growing children
On a summer-Sunday afternoon
Camera catching their laughter and their cries
Loaded with a colored cloud film
It's a flashing camera-filled sky
