A picture of a drop going into some water and from that entry, another drop is made that flies up a ways.

I'm More Than I Am

I am more than a drop
I am more than a stream
I'm deeply in Jesus
      And all that He means

I am not just a can
      Catching all the stray thoughts
I'm a sail in this life
Which His wind has just caught

I will sail on the wind
That is blown by my Lord
I will play only notes
      That express Jesus' chords

I will not be a fool
In this world by its gain
I will shake off its shackles,
      Its chains and its pain

I will go to the heart
      Of my freedom in Him
By relinquishing all that
      Makes His light dim

I will never believe
      For a minute that I
Am anything less than
      The light of God's eye

Oh, my spiritual brothers and sisters, we are so much more than what we think we are. Of course this is only true through Christ. What we've made of ourselves must be discarded. We must forget what we've taught ourselves so that God can move through our minds and hearts and give us His wisdom. We must study God's Word and we must quietly reach into our minds and find God there, within. At first you will not see Him because there are sins that block His light. In time, you will see a dim figure in the distance, beckoning you to Him and as you walk to Him, accepting what He did for you on the cross, He removes your sins. This is Jesus. This is who you've been seeking but, not knowing this you've been seeking and finding many other things instead. These things are diversions, distractions, valueless trinkets of the world. Ah, you say, I want You, Jesus, in every single aspect of my life. I want only You. Help me forget myself. Thank you, God. poem, poetry
