On this merry-go-round of insanity
Where nothing is what it seems to be
Where wild horses emotionally go
Up and down and fast and slow
Where all things seen but picture pain
And we've reversed what we call sane
So now we think that what is real
Are the headlines and we feel
Anger, fear, astonishment
At what this world to us has sent
But if we could for just a while
Feel Jesus within, then share His smile
If we could let go of strife
And take another look at life
We'd see beyond our petty dreams
A glorious world we've never seen
Because in looking at the shade
We've only seen the world we've made
And now, in looking deep within
We see a world that reflects Him
Christ can shine with eyes aglow
Until doubt's gone and then we'll know
This merry-go-round of insanity
We needn't ride eternally
But any moment we can choose
To see a world where we can't lose
And choose to pull the golden ring
That God is really offering
